GEL POLISH APPLICATION & REMOVAL GUIDE
NAIL PREP:
- Cleanse and sanitize hands.
- Push back and remove the true cuticle off the nail plate using our Pippa or Poppy drill bit or 240 grit nail file.
- File the free edge into shape using our 240 grit nail file.
- Lightly buff nail plate using our 240 or 180 grit sponge buffer or nail file to remove shine.
- Dust off hands and nails with a nail dust brush to remove any excess dust.
- Cleanse nail plate with a lint-free wipe using 100% pure acetone or isopropyl alcohol.
- Apply 1 coat of our dehydrator to each nail and allow to air dry for 20seconds to eliminate oils from the nail plate.
- After applying and allowing our dehydrator to air dry on the nail plate go in with 1 coat of our acid free primer to each nail whilst capping the free edge avoiding contact with the skin.
GEL APPLICATION:
- Apply a thin layer of our Base coat or Rubber Base Coat. Seal the free edge and cure in our nail lamp for 60 seconds.
- Apply the first thin layer of the desired gel polish colour, Seal the free edge and cure for 60 seconds.
- Apply the second thin layer of the gel polish colour, Seal the free edge and cure for 60 seconds.
- Apply a thin coat of desired Top Coat, Seal the free edge and cure for 60 seconds.
- Finish the manicure off by applying cuticle oil to the underside of the free edge and cuticle to rehydrate the cuticle and nails.
GEL REMOVAL:
- Cleanse and sanitise hands.
- Gently file the shine off the top coat using a 180 or 240 grit nail file to break the seal.
- Soak a cotton ball/pad in acetone place on the nail and wrap in aluminium foil.
- Leave to soak for 15 minutes times may vary depending on the products used, nail art, glitter and amount of layers previously applied.
- Unwrap the first nail. Make sure to only remove one nail at a time. If all the nails are unwrapped the gel will begin to reset.
- Using a cuticle pusher to remove the gel from the nail plate. If the gel is difficult to remove you will need to file the top, wrap again and leave for longer. The gel should remove easily, if there is any base coat residue on the nail buff away with a 180 grit sponge buffer.
- Shape the free edge using a 240 grit nail file.
- Push back the cuticles and remove any true cuticle off the nail plate. You‘re then ready to reapply gel or use a 240 sponge buffer to buff back to a natural shine then finish with cuticle oil.
